Fundraising

This year's two chosen charities are: CHARIS HOUSE & BUXTON MOUNTAIN RESCUE.

Charis House provides supported accommodation to help women rebuild their lives after problems with things like domestic abuse and addiction, and is the only such refuge in the area. It helps rebuild families, and also has a farm project which aims to get men and women back into work. See www.gnfc.org.uk for more information.

Buxton Mountain Rescue aims to rescue lost and injured people anywhere in the Peak District and surrounding areas. All members are volunteers, and the service is totally dependent on donations from the public. See www.buxtonmrt.org.uk for more information.

TO DONATE TO OUR CHARITIES PLEASE POP INTO CLARK'S SHOE SHOP ON SPRING GARDENS IN BUXTON (cheques made payable to Buxton Ladies Circle Charity Account). THANK YOU!

* Thanks to the Taj Mahal on Buxton High Street for warming us up with some curry before we spent a cold damp night in Poole's Cavern! And to The Old Hall Hotel for bringing us hot drinks and pastries in the morning!

* Thank you to Buxton Round Table for helping us clear up after our historic sleep-over!

* And thanks to our generous sponsors we were able to give Charis House some treats over the weekend - Swizzels sweets, Buxton Water and a Tesco Express hamper!
